Dear MOPS Mom,
Hello! We hope you have had a wonderful summer. We’re looking forward to a great year together in MOPS! Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 21st at 9:30 am. We will meet the first and third Tuesday from then until May. We hope you will plan to join us. We’ll introduce our new theme for the year: “Momology: The Art and Science of Mothering” Of course, we’ll also have some snacks, giveaways, and a chance to catch up with friends. We are very excited!
To make our first MOPS meeting run smoothly, please fill out your registration form and return it to the church by Monday, September 13th. You may also register online at www.fbcba.org. By registering in advance, you can help us better plan for both you in MOPS and your preschooler in MOPPETS (while you are in MOPS). Registration forms can be printed from our website at www.fbcba.org. Forms can be filled out online, dropped off at the preschool desk at the church or mailed to: First Baptist Church, MOPS, 100 W. Albany St., Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
Our meetings will be the first and third Tuesdays of the month, September through May with a few holiday exceptions. Meetings begin at 9:30 and MOPPET teachers begin taking kids at 9:15 am. There is a $7 fee for each meeting that can be paid as you come or you can purchase a punch card for $28 that covers four meetings at a time. Your meeting fee helps to offset the cost of childcare, craft supplies, drinks, décor, door prizes, and other MOPS expenses.
Also, MOPS moms will need to join MOPS International as part of the registration process. This is a current requirement of the MOPS International organization and in order to keep up our charter as an official MOPS group, we must comply by having all of our members join. The cost of this is $25 for the year. For that one time fee, you will receive a one-year subscription to MOMSense magazine, the weekly MOM-E-Mail messages, the theme book “Planet Mom”, and more. We think you’ll find it is definitely worth the money! If the registration fee or the meeting fees pose a hardship for you, please let us know. Scholarships are available for you. We don’t want anyone to miss out on MOPS for financial reasons!
